A slew of Chicago veterans are headed back home this fall. Two-time Tony nominee Charlotte d'Amboise will take over the role of Roxie Hart beginning August 30, the same day Raymond Bokhour will return as her onstage husband, Amos. Roz Ryan will follow as Matron Mama Morton on September 2. Current Billy Flynn, John O'Hurley, will extend his run through September 12. O'Hurley was originally scheduled to depart the production on August 21.
D'Amboise is a Tony nominee for A Chorus Line and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. She has also appeared in Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Can-Can, Contact, Company, Carrie, Song and Dance and Cats. With over 2,000 performances under her belt, d'Amboise has played Roxie more times than any other actress in the show's history. Bokhur made his Broadway debut in Chicago in 2001. His many other stage credits include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Vigil, What the Butler Saw and Rameau's Nephew. Ryan's return will mark her tenth season with Chicago. She has also appeared in The Pajama Game, One Mo' Time, Dreamgirls, Ain't Misbehavin' and A Christmas Carol.
Chicago currently stars Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ruthie Henshall as Roxie Hart, Carol Woods as Mama Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. The long-running revival opened on November 14, 1996 and continues to razzle dazzle at the Ambassador Theatre.
